The book release function for the book titled Zotuitlang Village

The book release function for the book titled Zotuitlang Village – A Historical Approach was held on 4th June, 2025. This marks the third publication of the History Department, showcasing the continued efforts of the department in promoting local historical research and documentation.

The book is based on Zotuitlang village, which is an adopted village of HATIM College. As part of this academic-community partnership, the History Department undertook extensive research to document the village’s past, traditions, and settlements.

The book, edited collectively by the faculties of the History Department, comprises four comprehensive chapters:

1. A Glimpse of Zotuitlang History

2. Oral History of Zotuitlang

3. Old Settlement of Valcheng

4. Old Settlement of Hnahchang

Richly illustrated with 75 visuals, the publication provides both textual and visual insights into the village’s past. The book has been published by TM Offset Printing Press and is registered under ISBN 978-93-94429-18-5.

The book was formally released by Dr. R. Lalnunthara, Principal, HATIM. A review of the book was presented by Dr. Lalhminghlua, Faculty, Department of History, highlighting the value of the work in preserving and promoting local history through both documented and oral traditions.

The event concluded with appreciation for the editorial team and encouragement for further research and publications in the field of local and oral history.
